After a long wait, Autodelta USA is preparing to begin delivering cars to dealers, according to Autodelta USA Director of Marketing Alex Jordano.

Jordano specifically stressed that the cars will be marketed and sold as Autodelta USA vehicles, with no affiliation to Alfa Romeo or Fiat .

Ten dealers throughout the East Coast and MidWest are scheduled for delivery of all three Autodelta USA models, the Convertible, Coupe, and Sedan, Jordano said. The delivery of these cars will be timed to coincide with AutodeltaUSA's advertising campaign, which will feature TV and print ads in major automotive publications.

Jordano also indicated that racing will figure prominently into their promotional strategies. AutodeltaUSA plans to run 3 races in the 2002 racing season, including the 24 hours of Daytona and the 12 hours of Sebring. After their debut at these races, the team will concentrate on developing a competitve car, although Jordano said they have not made a final decision on which series they plan to compete in after 2002.

The cars, originally scheduled for delivery in late November/ early December 2000, are currently in the process of received the necessary US EPA and DOT certifications to allow them to be sold in this country.

"We will initially concentrate on the Midwest, which will be a very strong market for us," said Jordano. The cars are also currently awaiting California CARB certification which will be necessary for them to be sold in that market, according to Jordano. Once they are CARB certified, Autodelta USA plans to set up three dealers to service California, one each in the San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco metropolitan areas.
